(heavy for history, cuz there's more behind us than in front)
| The Sandspurs had their day, playing Southern
roots rock 'n' blues and an occasional white-knuckle country number
(some of Tim's purebred American mongrel music). Over the years
these bandmates opened for the likes of Jimmy
Thackery and the Drivers, Magic Slim, Anson
Funderburgh and the Rockets, Scott Holt,
Big Mike Griffin, the Nighthawks,
Commander Cody, Joe Louis Walker, and the
Amazing Rhythm Aces. The
Sandspurs were based in Birmingham, Alabama. Click

"Just think of good ole Southern blues-fueled boogie with a little grit and soul ...the original material serve as our favorites...these guys really smoke!!" Music "combines all the excitement of a live CD with almost studio quality sound balance...Tim's guitar intro on "Blues for Monica" is superb....also does a great job on the harp...get out and see this local band."
Magic "the Sandspurs...can go make up sauce...then put to stir up sacrament with very good pieces of a good rockin' powerful blues" One local translation of a review by Luc Brunot from Radio Blues Intense in Paris (da Spurz: the band that can go make up sauce and stir yer sacraments!)

"...you know all the tales we tell, you know the band so well and still I feel
somehow...we let you down.
We went off somewhere along the way
...but what the hell, I can't erase
that rock and roll feeling
from my mind"
